Find Where to Fly: Don’t Fly Drones Here
While the FAA, local governments, and folks on the Internet try and work out where it’s okay or not okay to fly drones, a couple data analysts were able to put together a map of where it’s definitely not okay to fly.
Currently on the list are all US National Parks, US Military Bases, and within 5 miles of any medium to large-size airports. Until the deliberations are complete over at the FAA, it would probably be a good idea to check with park authorities at any state parks, since many treat their security as well as National Parks do.
It’s always best to inform yourself when it comes to flying. Even with the use of this map, always check with city authorities and/or property owners before flying in an unknown area. If there’s a RC flying club in your area, use the club space to work on your flying skills, and also network with others to see where they’ve been able to fly.
